Head Coach Jason Hoath

JASON HOATH has been named Head Coach of the LIONS for the 2016 season after serving two years as the defensive coordinator.

Hoath, a former quarterback standout for Spring Hill High School, served as an assistant coach under Vance Belew for five years before taking the head coaching job at Mt. Pleasant High School for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

While playing for Spring Hill where he was an all-state quarterback in 2002, Hoath played under head coaches Bill Cox and Mike Mizer. He was an all-region choice in basketball and qualified for the TSSAA State Track meet in the discus. He was team captain in all three sports.

Hoath was a four-year starter at linebacker for Lambuth University in Jackson. A two-time all-conference player, Hoath was an honorable mention All-American in 2007 and an unanimous choice for team captain in 2007, the year after being selected the team’s MVP.

A special education teacher, Hoath is very active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Hoath has sons Jase, who is 11, and Nate, 9, and four-year-old daughter Kate. His wife, Summer, is a teacher at Randolph Howell Elementary School in Columbia.
